Reverse Precautions
Patient and Family Instructions:
You have been placed in REVERSE ISOLATION because you require extra precautions
due to your condition to prevent you from getting an infection while you are in the
hospital.
In addition to routine infection control measures, the staff will:
1. Wear GLOVES whenever entering your room.
2. Wear a GOWN during some of your care.
3. Limit your ACTIVITY to your room unless it is necessary for you to be transported to
another department.
4. No staff with known INFECTIONS will participate in your care.
Your visitors will be asked to wear a gown, gloves, and a mask
while in your room, remove the gown, gloves and mask when
leaving your room, and wash their hands upon removing the
garments. They will be asked not to visit if they have a known
infection.
